The number of attendees listed after each entry refers to regular members only, that is those men who served in the Third Michigan during the war, and is based on study of both Association records and local newspaper accounts and rosters of each reunion, although the final tally represents mainly the number of men attending the business meeting. In any case, the number is approximate for many of the reunions.

The program for the thirteenth reunion held in mid-September of 1885 was listed as number 13, while the 1886 reunion was listed as the 15th. For some reason the number 14 was skipped in association records.

It is not known with any degree of certainty many veterans attended the banquet held subsequent to the business of the association, although undoutbtedlt that number would probably have been higher than the number of men who answered to roll call during the business meeting -- assuming that some of the old boys would want to attend the banquet only. No honorary members are included in this number.
